Bamboo Sheets from Target and Beyond

111307mintbamboo.jpgBamboo = Antibacterial bedding. We've been reading about bamboo sheets (and blankets and quilts), but have never slept on them. This set from Target is actually made with 60% cotton and 40% bamboo - used because of its natural antibacterial/antifungal properties (sans pesticides). There are also 100% bamboo bedding products out there, and a whole lot of conversation...see AT:NY's Bamboozled post. What does Chicago think?

i have a 60% cotton 40% bamboo sheets that I got on amazon and they are the softest sheets I have ever slept on. I am really wishing I had gotten two sets when I ordered them because I cant find them any more. They wash really well as well.

I need to buy a new duvet cover and am considering a bamboo / cotton mixture. Does anyone have any good ideas about brands or where I could locate one?

Are fungal sheets a problem?

I was thinking the same thing as you Lady J! If people change/wash their sheets at least once a week there shouldn't be any issues with fungus or bacteria or any other icky stuff of that sort. If I buy bamboo sheets it will be because they're comfortable.

I bought some at BB&B about a year ago and they are heavenly to sleep on! So far they have proved pretty durable as well. As for the anti-fungal, I have no idea.

@Signe: Agreed, the 60/40 sheets I got from Target are exceptionally soft, and only the downside is they're too warm for summer use.

Oooh... My sleeping area has a bamboo vibe (I surround my bed with three bamboo trees).

Anyone know if the Target sheets come in white? I wash my sheets 1-2 times a week so I like being able clearly see any dirt/stains/coffee spots.

I bought some 60/40 bamboo sheets from target last year. I bought them because they were on sale, but they quickly became my favorite sheets because they're so soft. The drawback is that they haven't been as durable as I would like. I've since patched the flat sheet in two places (weak thread-related rips, I think) and have had to reinforce the mattress pockets on the fitted sheets. But, I did like the sheets enough to patch them...
