Montreal's Gazette took us inside the home of Emmanuel Cosgrove last month. His Plateau rowhouse achieved LEED Platinum certification in 2007: an distinction of only four homes in North America at the time. Cosgrove, with his consulting company Écohabitation, helped bring LEED for Homes to Canada, which will start up next spring. Read on for more than a few ways that Cosgrove practices sustainable living in his own home...

Natural light is brought into this bathroom through a skylight that penetrates the 17 feet to the roof with a highly reflective tube.

For much more on Cosgrove's experience and LEED certification in Quebec, read the full Gazette article. We can't recommend this article enough. It's an intimate look at the certification process that even includes a mock LEED inspection by Cosgrove of his own home. Check out more on Cosgrove's green initiative at Écohabitation (in French).
