A grow your own wine rack kit to delight any DIY, gardening, or wine enthusiast: We're thinking great ideas can be taken from this for the true DIYer who is not bound by kits. Created by artist and designer Lois Walpole, this wine rack is grown from 22 lengths of willow...
...and then "takes two to three years before the growing willow grafts together." Eventually, it can be harvested and brought indoors; holds up to 10 bottles.
Read on about the Grow your own wine rack, which runs £29.95 (about $45) and is available online from EcoCentric.
You can also grow your own mushroom log (choose from shitake, oyster and winter mushrooms).
Neat, but not practical. The constant exposure to the elements would wreck havoc on your wine. There's a reason why wine cellars exist - stable temperatures and protection from sunlight exposure make happy wines.
Now. If you wanted to display an empty bottle collection, this might be the ticket.
