Montreal's Solar Decathlon House at the Biosphere

We visited the Biosphere last fall and were pleased to see the 2007 Montreal entry for the student Solar Decathlon competition has made its home there. The house is open for guided tours included with your visit to the Biosphere. Among our favorite characteristics of the green home: its planted facade...

 
 

We also loved the small-but-lofty interior, which was fitted with maple (of course) flooring, oversized sliding doors, a laundry closet, and a live-work bedroom area. Find out more about visiting the home and the Biosphere here.

the new Whole Foods here in Vancouver has a similar "living wall" (just opened yesterday, everyone is very excited:)
