Murco Recycling: Demolition Auctions

8-14-07murco.jpg

Tagline: Because there is no "Rest" in "Restoration." We met Erika, a friend of a friend and a fan of AT, last weekend at a party. She tipped us off to Murco Recyling, which she's been using to rehab her new condo.

Murco organizes "demolition auctions" for houses that are scheduled to be torn down. Bidders rescue old doors, cabinets and carpets from the dump, reusing them in their own homes. You can walk away with great deals, but you have to dismantle the goods yourself.

8-14-07murco2.jpg Murco also has immediately available items from local rehabs. The bluestone steps pictured at right are ready and waiting for the person that can dismantle them.

They also have cash and carry items for sale at their warehouse, including:
lighting
doors and windows
bath stuff
kitchen stuff
appliances
miscellaneous whatnots

You can bid online for salvaged items in the "More Stuff" section of the site. Thanks for the tip, Erika!
