Is it a good idea to keep rubber tire material near a fireplace? (If, indeed, that is firewood, not just decorative wood). Yay for the 3Rs, Nay for potentially toxic fumes.

It's surprisingly difficult to find a modern, stylish container like this. Almost everything is woven wicker/raffia/whatever.

I should have specified, I'm looking for the basket shape. I did see Conran's product, but my dog could never get her toys out of that deep container.
