Shown above, left to right:
1. Bedroom filled with natural materials and textures in calming colors: a rattan bedframe from Restoration Hardware, woven lampshade (and slippers), big, bold branches as a bouquet in a glass cylinder vase, organic mattress and vine patterned bedding ($49!) from JCP. A glass lamp on the opposite bedside table balances and echoes the large vase.
2. Danny's dining area, before.
3. The redone, cozied-up dining area includes an intimate round dining table which is dressed with inexpensive layered tablecloths and then set with recycled glassware and bowls from the Simply Green line. An oversized, dramatic pendant accentuates the ceiling height, as does the long, natural textured drapes.
4. Danny's bath, before.
5. The sink area gets an update. The natural wood vanity remains, but the doors are now painted a soft grey. A lighted makeup - style mirror is replaced with a dark framed mirror which is flanked with two industrial metal sconces. A raised square sink and simple fixtures modernize the space. Accessories are quick drying towels and mat and an abaca bark tray from Linden Street to keep daily essentials close at hand and organized.
More info on Simply Green is right here and Danny's blog can be found here.

Those sheets are gorg! I'm really loving the serene, sea-glass feel of the bedroom.

That dining area reminds me of my place- but with windows! I love the improvements for the bathroom. It honestly is a miniscule place and it is still neutral (meaning I am totally inspired to make me ugly little bathroom look good)
The bedroom also looks so nice. It strikes me as a post-thunderstorm sky where the sky is still black, but it is warm and unusually sunny, with all the colors of summer!

I just bought two lamps like that, for $20 each, and wasn't sure what to fill them with except seashells but I Really love the idea of using seaglass. Expensive but it would be spectacular in my particular setting. Thanks!

I love those metal sconces in the bathroom, and was thinking about doing something similar in mine, but I'm worried that the light won't be good enough to do my makeup, put in my contacts, etc. In short, is this practical for anything other than a guest bathroom? Anyone have any thoughts?

Can we get a link or more info for the bedding? Love it, but can't find it on the JCP website.

I agree with the others who love the bedding! I'll have to see if my local store has it yet.

hi all -
I just checked in with Danny by email and he said that the bedding is not yet online yet but IS already in stock and available in all JC Penney stores.

Lovely bedding, and I am shocked that my bathroom is on its way to looking similar to his with a lavendar/grey motif. But I think I like the "before" dining room better with its colorfulness. The "after" is too bland, though cozier.

No love at my local JC Penney.
