A few months ago, we discovered our new favorite toothbrush at Trader Joe's: the Preserve toothbrush.
Made from environmentally-friendly materials, this toothbrush is 100% recyclable. We also absolutely love the design, which feels comfortable when holding and brushing. This ergonomic design "encourages the brushing motion most dentists recommend — the Bass Technique."

I use the Terradent from Eco-Dent. The bristles are replaceable so you don't have to worry about throwing away or replacing the bulk of the product - just keep on reusing it. Lest you fret, the bristles aren't individually replaceable, they're all set in a piece that just snaps out of the head. It also came from Whole Foods.

I've been using the Preserve for years, and actually just decided to stop. I like so much about it (everything mentioned above), but they have to be replaced far more often than other toothbrushes, which is not only expensive but also mitigates the eco-friendliness of it. I'll have to try Terradent though -- thanks for the hint, Daruma.

I love this toothbrush! And being able to mail it back to them for free in their pre-paid mailer is a boon! If your store doesn't offer them, just print out the pre-paid lable from their website...

As an environmental studies major and an avid Preserver, I love that I know exactly where the plastic for my toothbrushes comes from (ie-Stonyfield yogurt cups) especially since I’m putting it in my mouth! I think that it is great that it’s recycled instead of using petro-chemicals that require more oil barrels from who knows where…
With so many manufacturers going overseas, I think it’s great that Recycline has also commited to manufacturing in the US unlike EcoDent that manufactures in Germany.
Plus Recycline has found a way to give back to our communities through building playgrounds with plastic lumber!
