Bathroom month may be over, but these images of bungalow bathrooms (originally photographed by Linda Svendsen for a book by the same name) deserved some attention. Having just moved into a bungalow with a seriously fantastic old bathroom complete with subway tiles and great detailing, these are bathroom types not often featured on AT. We're aiming for a clean, modern touch that compliments old features without losing the original character...a true challenge, but we are ready for it. Stay tuned for the story of our own bungalow bathroom. For now, enjoy these:

What cool looking bathrooms.

I have a bungalow bathroom and it is the most uncharming thing ever. Its like being in a convex airline restroom with a tub & the ceilings were made for hobits or something. I will definitely be seeking some remodel advice soon.

I liked all the pics but the last one....too much clutter!!! I think that bathrooms should be more sparse.

I love all but the last one. Too much.

Seriously, it looks like they dragged in a cast iron stove for the last one.

Are these from the era of celebrating indoor plumbing? Casa Loma's bathroom is like this.

oh the windows, the tile, the claw feet! I LOVE it (well, the last one, that's a hot mess, but all the rest)! I don't know if I could ever live in any other style home besides a bungalow at this point. They are the best!

I'm generally a fan of bungalows, but those sinks have got to be the most graceless things I've ever seen.

Here is a little more vintage bathroom excitement for ya. These guys do remodeling in Portland, and have some photos of their work. Lots of tile work. Enjoy.
