Famous TV Interiors in Miniature

Ready for a trip down video memory lane? A friend sent us a link to these fun and memory-inducing photos of miniature TV sets created by "On The Set". The set above is unmistakably the mod home of one of tv's classic families, the Bradys. But can you guess the rest? Take a look at the pics above and click through to see if your memory of these once-so-familiar interiors has stood the test of time (and a shrink ray):

The artist, "On The Set", writes: As a kid I loved visiting Hollywood and seeing various TV sets in soundstages. I was always forbidden from taking pictures so I would come home and build what I saw. I have not built a set in 12 years and these make great dust collectors. Now I have brought them out for you to see and have some half finished ones as well I am finally getting done. Sets are made of lots of different things but the basis is Lego bricks. A set can take from 2 weeks to a month to complete. Strange hobby I know but I hope you enjoy them!

And the answers are:

1. The Brady Bunch
2. Facts of Life
3. The Golden Girls
4. Roseanne
5. Designing Women

Thanks to "On the Set" ! Visit their flickr site for more.

How fun! I missed "The Facts of Life," but got the rest.

I was able to guess the Golden Girls and Roseanne. That is a strange hobby, but pretty interesting what the guy was able to do with Legos. I could never build anything more complex than a log with those things.

Didn't the set in the Brady Bunch have a sunken living room?

This is awesome though. Only improvement I would make is to do them in legos and sell them as kits.

I too thought the second one was "All in the Family", there is a resemblance (or at least in my memory there is)... :)

Fun idea none the less.

Love it! I got the first three, but didn't watch the other two shows so couldn't place them.

O.K. so I got 1 out 4.

This is such a unique idea! I loved going to tv sets as well growing up in southern california. While everyone else wanted to go miles away for vacation, I wanted to go to Hollywood so I understand the sentimality of it. I think you should continue with other popular shows and share with the world!

"Didn't the set in the Brady Bunch have a sunken living room?"

No - It was a split level with a raised foyer and staircase landing...
...but behind the landing was Mike Brady's home office, which was stepped down to the main level again.

Ahhhh, I see the problem. When I think of Facts of Life I think of the actual school days, not when they lived right next to the store they ran.

I was thinking it was something like Reba or Step by Step but the layout was all wrong.

Designing Women almost had me stumped, I was heading towards Cybil, but that desk by the door kicked it in for me.

I always loved the Golden Girls decor. It was so very 80s Florida Retirement, but to me it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy and nostalgic for my childhood! It was damn exotic when I was a kid to have giant floor plants, wicker INSIDE the house, and those big windows.

How fun! I guess I already have a tv miniature living room, in a manner of speaking.... I was given a model of the Jupiter 2 from Lost in Space, a few years back, complete with interior, upper and lower levels! I love that thing to pieces. 8^)
