Blogging to you this week from Rochester, New York (yup, I'm in NY and it's just as sweltering as it is back in Chicago) wouldn't be complete without paying homage to George Eastman's Kodak Company. In 1888, Eastman's first simple point-and-click camera changed the history of photography and its accessibility to the masses forever.

As we were driving through downtown Rochester yesterday, we passed by the many buildings that make up Kodak Park, and tried to imagine how it was in past decades before the downsizing of thousands of employees. Kodak is still plugging away, though, working with the digital age of photography and continuing to be the film source for most movie studios.

wasn't the Kodak Brownie first introduced in Chicago at the World's Fair?
I'm from Rochester and one of my favorite places there is the Eastman house. The gardens are usually gorgeous and the classic films they screen at George Eastman's private theater are great!
As a fellow native Rochesterian, I totally concur. Although my favorite place is the planetarium.
