New Color and a New Shape for Fiesta
Home and Housewares 2009

Two new launches from Fiesta at the Home and Housewares show this week: a new color of the ever-collectible dishware and a brand new shape that was described...

...to us as a modern update of the classic brand.

The new color is called Lemongrass and is a modern yellow green with a touch of acid. It was shown with a creamy vanilla color and a dark brown and it worked as a nice counterpoint to both. Pieces in this color will ship in June 2009.

The new shape dinnerware is available this month (in the eight colors shown) and is a rounded-corner square. It has the distinctive Fiestaware ridged bands around the edge and, while it is quite a serious departure from the very familiar round plates, it still is immediately recongnizable as Fiestaware product due to the colors and finish and overall weight of the plates.

Not feeling this is a very appetizing color to eat off of, maybe a canister or a bowl but a entire collection no. I will stick to my classic timeless never need another plate (unless they break) white plates.

Fiesta is great quality stuff, but the colors can really make food look very unappealing.

The white color is a grey-white....I'm hoping they'll come out with a more pure white.

I've been eating off fiesta dishes since I was 14 years old :-) I love those utensils. Haven't seen them before.

OK if you're trying to lose weight, I suppose...

This doesn't mean they're getting rid of the round plates does it?

Yuck! I'll stick with the more traditional stuff.

I have always really preferred white porcelain dinner plates, with fun modern and vintage pieces intermixed. :)
