apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Chicago Tribune Home & Garden Roundup: 12.16.07

2007-12-17-pinkhouse.jpgGirl Gone Wild is the title of this week's article about Erin Healy. She lives in Wilmette's "Pink House"...a 100 year old farmhouse painted an unusual hue and filled with "cowboy chic".

It's all about Erin's obsessions and collections - from Eiffel Towers, gas pumps and old refrigerators to her refurbished trailer pictured here, mainly acquired from eBay.

In the Muji article it says:

"'We're reducing clutter and selling all our stuff on eBay', Jennifer Birnbaum added, explaining that they would continue selling their possessions until their apartment held nothing that wasn't used daily."

I find this very, very sad - what about Christmas decorations, childhood toys, precious baby clothes, things that you might want to hand down to your children? - all those wonderful things that actually mean something...
