apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Home and Garden Roundup: 4.23.06

2006-04-24-kitchshow.jpg The super-gigantor Kitchen and Bath Industry Show was held this week in Chicago, and H&G leads off with a story about the show's Design Idea Center put together by five home magazines. The spaces were each designed to represent an ideal space in which to spend a certain time of day, hence the "24-Hour Kitchen and Bath" title.

The room pictured is the kitchen from Midwest Living, "Intimate Gatherings", which is the space intended for casual entertaining in the evening hours. It also included a dining area, and an outdoor rooftop living area, complete with fireplace.

Bringing Maggie Daley home: A pink tulip was bred in Holland and named as an honor for Maggie Daley. A bouquet was sent to celebrate the kickoff of the annual Tulip Days along Michigan Avenue which runs from April 25 - May 14. (those giant planters of tulips really do look amazing in the middle of all that concrete)

I broke down and registered at chicagotribune.com, but they don't have any images! A link at my name has videos of all 4 kitchens from the Show.

The print version of the Trib has a cute article with all kinds of bug products:
