I think the color is great, if it ties in with the rest of your decor. It would definitely be the focal point of the room.

yes lynn, i was thinking the exact same thing.
my sis and i had a tortoise shell cat, so no matter what you were wearing at least one of three possible cat hair colors showed up.

it also reminds me of the seinfeld where george was dating a woman whose roommate had a similar purple velvet couch.....the baby label maker jr. episode.
