The colors are, in theory, just fine. It's the wood-paneling/ black leather furniture combo I'm not too keen on.

I LOVE it. It reminds me of my aunt and uncle's place back in the late '60's and early '70's. Yup - I'm dating myself!

I don't mind it - the overall room might step up if the two leather furniture pieces were in white - but overall I think it works for the look they are going for.

I think the dark colors compliment the bright pinks and oranges very nicely.

If someone had told me about those color choices for that room, I would have said, "I don't think so", but seeing them in the space, they totally work. I think the pink and orange are a nice contrast against the wood and an unexpected departure from the standard earth tones that you usually see paired with wood. The black leather furniture would have looked way too corporate without the playful accessories to brighten them. Great Job!

i like this room a lot! the girly colors are toned down quite a bit by the black leather- so the room isn't overly feminine...its just fun!

Loose the brown and go with orange, pink and black with a range of grays.

Luv this space...
I used to live in a highrise apt building on the north side of Chicago (built in 1974) that had large pink and orange formica panels mounted on a woodgrain background in the elevators. Sadly, they "modernized" them to a boring palette of taupes and dark greens.

This room is about perfect - It just needs a big groovy chrome and glass cocktail table and some pink and orange lacquer boxes to add sparkle.

I'm with bepsf. The colours are fine but the dramatic black floor demands more oomph and a bit of sparkle: bigger globe lights or chrome sputniks, giant palm trees, J. Adler ceramics, and an orange glass tile backsplash in the kitchen. If you're going to do pink and orange with black leather furniture, there's no sense in being timid about it.

Too much brown for me, along with too much paneling. Otherwise it's close.

I would've preferred matte finish slate/charred grey leather to plain old black leather, but the glare from the lights make it look slate-colored anyway. So yeah, good combo.
I'd replace the rug and pillows in a warm-cold-neutral-pastel rotation each season.

I just don't like orange and pink - It's juvenile and too trendy.
I voted "almost hot" because I love the colors, but all the textures are flat flat flat. Other than the wood grain, and the carpet, there are no patterns... It's not as rich as it could be.

The black and brown are both dominant and competing with one another. Trade out the black leather for something neautral or with more pop (like the orange).
Plus, put those throw pillows out of their deflated and wrinkled misery and replace them with something textured and heftier.

This example works well because it's not overdone.
I didn't open this post while still at work and was all, like, "hot or not"? Neither! Glad to see a mediocre choice. This is not heinous to look at but it's not something I would say was even that warm.
