A new level of pointless ugly. There are plenty of rugs out there that are not in-your-face cruelty-free, pretty and

I agree, Wally3. If you want to have a cruelty-free rug (or an item) just get something nice looking and don't resemble what they are suppose to not be.

I support the idea of cruelty-free decor, and I applaud the quest for a tongue-in-cheek design concept. Bravo to both.
Unfortunately... I think it's ugly as sin. lol!

I'm baffled- I didn't know there was an animal out there with a floral hide.
I kid, but I really don't see the correlation here- why would I want a perfectly good rug to be tortured into the shape of an animal? That seems pretty cruel to me.

Punchline furniture doesn't work for me.

Not only are they ugly, it's also not safe to assume that a wool rug isn't 'cruelty free,' considering the awful practices used by some in the wool industry.

what's the point of having it in hide shape if it is not a natural product..YUK...
Reputable companies sell hides that are a bi-product of the meat industry for those of you who are not vegitarians...

Hmmmm. Whimsical, if nonsensical, concept. Non-whimsical price. No thanks.

Do not want.

I never liked hide rugs for their shape in the first place, apart from the dead animal aspect. So these are completely pointless to me. Just something to trip on. (If the patterns were animal designs, they might make SOME sense, but "persian" patterns just don't.)
view SherryBinNH's profile
If you didn't tell me they were "hide" shaped I would think they were odd Rorschach test patterns. Come to think of it, THAT would be kinda cool.

I get it. I just don't want it.

rockypondgirl - in a Rorschach type rug, and someone asks you "What might this be?" if you answer anything but 'rug,' you will be examined for psychosis.
Just kidding. I hate these though. As for "cruelty free," and as opposed to a normal rectangular rug, I guess these were fishing for customers who might otherwise go for a hide. Are these not exactly the types of things that would go with the fake animal trophies? The cable-knitted deer and plywood moose, and calico floral bear? Those seem fairly popular (whimsical, kitschy, ironic, and FUN!) but something like this comes along, and nobody seems to be able to recognize the relationship between these things. Come on!

"Woven fromt he finest of wools" - Also, wool is cruel, if you want to get a technical definition.

This would be sort of a fun idea if it was actually thought all the way through. Or designed to actually be attractive.
Wool isn't so very cruelty free. True the animal hasn't died... yet.

I liked the idea, but the end result is ugly.
Try again.
