I like things that are "out of the ordinary" and think these are very kewl.

I don't think I'd call these "hot"... but they're certainly more attractive than a conventional humidifier.

I am with whitewaffle, these are definitely more attractive than a conventional humidifier.

A big fat shiny egg that'S innovative design? Look mom I reinvented the wheel? How many designers and companies have used the ubiquitous egg to escape original thinking? By using that fool proof shape, it only becomes common and downgraded.

L'eggs hosiery containers, Uovo bowls, food timers, paper weights, swing chairs . . . feel free to add to the list.

I think it's genius and beautiful. I could very easily put the champagne-colored one next to my champagne-colored Dirt Devil Kone and be a very happy boy. No, really. I mean it.
At the moment, I don't think I really need a humidifier, but this is definitely the one I'd get.

Hot, not because the egg shape a new idea, but because somebody finally made a non-ugly humidifier.

Totally agree with Jezebella, it's not that it is that hot but at leats is better than the other ones I know.

I much prefer the Naoto Fukusawa donut-shaped humidifier -- it's makes this look really dated!

bleh. I got both Fukasawa's name *and* my grammar wrong. not a good day so far.

Ooh! I like the donut one better! Though both are better than the ugly ones - I'd still probably not "display" it on a shelf. It would more likely go on the floor in an inconspicuous spot.
But it's too damn humid here anyway.

If it works, fine. Otherwise, no.

Mork calling Orson, come in, Orson. I like.

Ohhh - Let's fill our homes with brightly-colored plastic egg-shaped gadgets and live like Barbarella!

Why don't you ever post the prices on the "Hot or Not" posts? I think that is a relevant factor.

outonalimb,
We do post prices on hot or nots, when we have the info. These were spotted at a trade show this week and the retail price wasn't available.

Can we? Can we live like Barbarella?

Not my style, but it's MUCH better looking than the humidifier in the corner of my room.

heh, I have a dorky frog shaped humidifier:

The egg is alright, but I think I like my froggy better.

Looks nicer than my humidifier, but what I care about is function. How well does this work? How easy is it to clean? Etc etc. Since a humidifier is a functional rather than decorative object, how well it functions is a definite consideration.

Donut in teal > Egg in red. :) That being said I'll take whatever costs less. I remember how much those dirt devil Kone things cost compared to my Shark and how they didn't work as well. So yeah.
Cost on either of these? Anyone?
Bueller? Anyone?

I wish someone made a cute DEhumidifier. They're boxy and huge.
