considering i just got the delightful experience of having a bird fly in through my open bathroom window and... ahem... make himself at home all over my tub, no thank you.

We have more squirrels than birds. My dogs would absolutely love this. ;->

I voted yes but only on the grounds that there is some kind of Plexiglas separating the birds from actually coming into my home.

Back in the good old days when I had an office with a window, I would just sprinkle birdseed on the outside sill a few times a day. This seems like an expensive and less convenient (and slightly weird) alternative to that.

it's got shatter-proof, one-way mirror film so you see the birds and they don't see you.
It seems like the squirrels would have a field day. Can you say that for squirrels? I guess most days are field days for squirrels.

Squirrels or birds, doesn't matter. My cat would absolutely go apesh*t for this, whatever small creatures it attracts.

Sunspot - at least your cats don't bark! Ever hear a Bichon bark? OMG. Or rather "oh my nerves!" I suppose the good news is they're 3 and 4 years now. Maybe in another 3 or 4 they'll mellow out a bit. Just kidding.
Still, the neighbors all think it's hilarious the way they go nuts and try to "dig" through the patio doors while standing on their hind legs (and barking at the top of their lungs) when they see a squirell. Or a cat. Or invisible things only they see. ;->
Hey - does anyone know why squirells dig holes? Are they looking for nuts, or what?

They're looking to eat my daylilly bulbs!!! Lost 3 beds and a planter full of daylillies to them in the space of a couple of weeks. The local nature expert here said that because of the drought they're having to range farther to find food. Glad I could help :-/.
I kinda like the birdfeeder - I've hung one for the hummingbirds right outside one window where my cats like to sit - a couple of days ago I walked into the living room to find both cats in the window and the hummingbird about 6 inches away (on the other side of the glass) flitting back and forth between the two scolding them. Their heads were going back and forth like they were watching a tennis game. Hilarious!!
The one-way mirror design is an excellent idea. While squirrels seem to enjoy teasing cats who are stuck inside, birds are more nervous--but they won't be able to see the cat's head getting bigger and bigger as it's desire to capture the little birdy mounts to a fevered pitch. If I could afford this little feeder in the window, I'd try my best to open that last stuck window I just haven't bothered with and put it in place!
