At many levels, these things are just totally silly and kitschy. But, half jokingly we bought a set of multicolor LED cubes for a friend who throws a lot of cocktail parties from this website (http://www.thecubelady.com/litecubes.htm) and they certainly seem to be popular. Our kids love them so much they kept asking to add them to their drinks, and the (adult) beer drinkers felt a little bit left out of all the fun.

They're cool. I would be less inclined to just leave my drinks around unattended and forgotten.

Cool, but not really a 'green' product, unfortunately.

I'd like them more if they didn't blink.

I'd like them more if they weren't "disposable once the battery runs out."

They are Not hot on that picture for sure. At the first glance, they appear tacky.
But to be fair, the look probably improves in a dark party atmosphere. The styling of the picture is simply inexistent. Instead of using them for single drinks, you could place them inside a punch bowl or better yet, a high and low serving jar for your signature drink. The key is to use them sparsely. They could add a festive element if you present them right. They may come handy for your Christmas party.
