Hot or Not? "Modern" Ironing Board

polder052609.jpgAn ironing board is one of those staples of home life that simply doesn't get a design update very often, but we ran across this contemporary redesign today. What do you think of this update? Hot or not?

The Polder Z-Series Ironing Board is available for $139.99 at Target.

for some reason I always kick the cord out of the wall while I'm ironing--I'd buy it if this ironing board would solve my problem.

Forgive me for being stupid - but why would you plug the iron into the ironing board to it into the wall?

Seems a little complicated for doing a quick press-job on a dress shirt in the morning - and unnecessarily spendy as well.

Yikes--$140 for an ironing board? No, thanks.

The plug at the feet makes no sense. If you go to the trouble of plugging the board... why not have the plug for the iron up at the top. I have a special outlet at my home...it's up high and made for the iron.

I am not really clear on the benefits - I am assuming the electrical element is there to keep the iron cord out of your way which is a good thing. Outside of looking cool, does it make any other improvements to the ironing experience? I am always up for a better mousetrap.

buy a steamer instead - just as good - takes up less space.

I second the steamer. I love mine and use it all the live long day.

Forgive ME for being stupid, but what is this word you use--"Ironing"? It's never used in my house... (lol)
$140 will buy you a lovely bottle of the bubbly!

Yeah I don't even own an iron... I second the steamer... it's small and you can do it while it's on a hanger... So simple and space saving.

I'd rather pay someone to do my ironing at that price!

I dream of a Laurastar... (this from a woman who's mother refused to own an ironing board, and never ironed... funny how that works!)

I like the cord attached to the board! That'd solve a host of problems!

Once you use a steamer you will never go back. They are amazing and usually much quicker than ironing. Well worth the money.
