Spotted at Lowe's: this little plastic palm tree with a string of lights. Hot for a Chicago back yard or...not so much? Vote below:

It might look better if it were a plastic palm tree and not a plastic fur tree.

Oh God please... don't make your yard look like a cheap Turkish fast-food outlet at Christmas.

The lights don't even look like lights. It loos like the tree has bad acne or something.

I dont know... this could be kind of hilarious in the right context. Maybe even a kids' room. I know I would have liked any kind of light-up tree in my room when I was a kid. Although, I see what everyone is saying. Not very classy. But even so...

... christmas tree ..

Yeah. I was going to say. just keep a fake evergreen in your yard. Decorate it with two strands of leds: one colored, one white. Plug whichever one is appropriate in.

... or not. The the multifunction christmas tree was a bad idea, and this is worse.

its mostly just strange looking. is it trying to be a fir? or a palm? or what?
i would probably be okay with the attempt at vintage-looking lights, on another tree...

Plant a few bottles of corona in the fake pot, light the whole thing on fire and then puke on it to put it out- then you'd really have something authentic.

Um.
(Awkward silence. I'm speechless.)

Uh, let me take this opportunity to note that there are also many real palms and palm look-alikes that grow well in the home. Dracaenas, the green/yellow plants pictured behind the fake pinepalm, grow well in dim light (near a northern window or further in the room near a brighter exposure), as does the parlor palm, Chamadorea elegans (which is probably the finer foliage near the dolly in the photo). Both can be moved outdoors in the summer to create a tropical ambiance in the temperate garden, although they would probably not easily hold up lights this big.

Or, you could get a Norfolk Island pine and not take care of it, so that the bottom branches die and fall off. And it would look a lot like this. If you *really* wanted that repurposed-artificial-christmas-tree look.

This really does look like something from a local bar scene
in a movie starring ( ? ). You all know, the guy who loves his upper body and shows it in every other scene---the one all woman seem to like because he comes off such a bad boy.

Great, just what every snow bird in Ocala, FL is going to put out on their lawn for Christmas. At least the ugly flamingos in Christmas hats will look less tacky by comparison!
