It looks like it might collapse if I so much as put ANYthing on it.

We totally had something like this growing out that my parents would pull out on the occasional Friday night when we were allowed to eat pizza in front of the TV. Ours was birch veneer and yellow-enameled metal, and way squeakier than this one looks like it would be.

It looks too contrived--more like a gimmick than a useful piece that will see years of regular use. I'd expect a card table at that price to do something *fantastic*

Love it. I bet all that hardware at the "knees" makes it superstable. Hence the price.

Does anyone actually own this? And how stable is it?

gimmicky. just buy a bruno mathsson and use it as as a closed console behind a couch.(4 x the price on ebay, less at alameda on a good day, and a sound resale/investment piece).

I think it's got a very good look to it---somewhat along the lines of a drafting table. I like the proportions. And there's no denying it would be very useful in a place too small for any kind of regular dining table.
