These are by designer Caroline Lowgren, but we think they could be taken on as a fairly simple DIY. Reminiscent of seventies string/op art, they are a different take on the same old cork board and a piece of functional art...but are they hot...or not?

They are like the ribbon boards.

Or even its sloppier "rad" version:

Call it a personal preference, I just don't like the concept or the execution in all its forms.

For some reason, upon the first several looks i thought these were "accordian-style." Only when I clicked on KTG's links did I realize they were just a round version of the undying ribbon boards of DIY-craze. They don't look so hot now.

I think these ribbon board variations all look messy. It's clutter, to be avoided.
I put cork sheet inside a kitchen cabinet door for phone numbers, menus, and other bulletin board stuff. It's accessible but not in my face.

It is certainly functional--if that is what you are looking for. Everyone I know has a place where things gather anyway, and I like that it is a different in shape from the "old" string boards.
