Great! My kitchen and bathrooms are the two spots in my home with the greatest number of "issues."

For anyone out there considering a Bosch dishwasher in their kitchen remodel or upgrade, I would urge you to reconsider!!

I purchased a Bosch in 2005, mainly based on positive feedback I saw on AT. What a mistake. While the Bosch label may be cool and upscale, I believe there are several design flaws that make this a brand to avoid. First, there is no food grinder, so you have to manually clean the filter all the time. This sounded OK to me at first, but I constantly had grit in my glassware but nothing in the filter.

Also, Bosch does not have a heating element - it uses recycled heat from the wash cycle to dry the dishes. Again, good in theory and more eco-friendly too, but this leaves a pool of water in the bottom of the unit (under the metal "floor") which results in a powerful stink when you open the door. Nothing like taking a "clean" dish out of the unit that smells bad.

Anyway, I'm going with a KitchenAid this time.

Can anyone tell me who makes the sink shown in the thumbnail above? We're building a half bath right now and that size/style looks perfect.

@cweingarten,

I read the original post and the pedestal sink is from Kohler.

The cabinets were custom built by the home owner. I am very impressed by them. studiowai.com is the name of the owners site I believe.

Well, then, given it is Kitchen and Bath Month, I might as well ask.

We are new home(condo)-owners. In retrospect, the developer and contractor were criminal and incompetent. One of the big open issues is one bathroom which is failing after just 1.5 years. So, I am considering how the bathroom can be redone. I can do some on my own, but not everything. How can I find the right people to do the work?

I'd need work on tile, dry-wall, a new sink/cabinet. I'm willing to learn, but I also want it done well, just once. =)

And, boy, the Kohler sink and cabinet combo would be great in my space!!

I am in love with this hamper, but wouldn't dream of paying that much for one. Anybody know where I can find something similar? It doesn't have to be a double, I really just like the open weave design:
