Furniture pieces that serve multiple purposes and functions are great for small-space living — whether it's a drop-leaf dining table that expands for larger parties or a Murphy bed that hides in the wall, transforming furniture is one of our favorite product categories. I've rounded up the most unique transforming furniture posted in 2008, including the four pieces shown above..

I know AT NY posted about this in 2007, but I think it's worth repeating:

BoConcept ottoman bed

This has been used in my small 900sqft place to host guests and to serve as an extra sofa for those Bears games get-togethers -- just place a sheet on top! The memory foam is exceptionally comfortable and beats an air mattress any day.

That suitcase/chair isn't "Transformable" or "Multifunctional" by any means - You can no longer pack it up with clothing and take it on a trip...

...it's just something that's been made into something else.
