Elizabeth's Vintage Finds Filled Apartment
House Call

Name: Elizabeth
Location: Chicago

This house call came to us via Flickr. We are so glad that Elizabeth tagged her photos with "apartmenttherapychicago" so we could get a little peek inside her apartment which she's decorated with her vintage finds...

She clearly has an eye for good pieces - according to her notes, that wonderful mid-c dresser (photo 2, above) was a $50 craigslist find! The framed pieces are original 19th century bookplates (photo 4, above), picked up for $12 each at the Printer's Row Book Fair.

Thanks, Elizabeth!

$50 for that dresser?! Unfair. Please don't tell me what she paid for those chairs, I might cry.

I have that same chair frame! It badly needs to be refinished. I had been eyeing it for a long time. It was just sitting in a neighbors yard, getting rained on and every trash night I'd walk by with my dog, hoping it would be out in the pile that day. And one day, it was! I was so excited, I brought it home immediately. Another neighbor gave me a crazy look, but it was so worth it. When I'm done with it, it will be amazing!

Thank you very much! Unfortunately, the Nelson chair is not for sale - I've had it my whole life (literally) and I am not ready to part with it. Other views with more information are up on my flickr site here:

Why would the bedroom picture be posted here? There is nothing special or cool about it...

elizabeth,

your home is beautiful!
i am in L-O-V-E with your comforter/duvet -
i'm not sure which one it is, but i'm sure that i love it!
it looks like it *might* be a modern addition? PLEASE
tell me it's a modern addition, and that i might be able
to find a matching one somewhere (so that i can be
just like you)?

I really got a kick out of this apartment. Everything is very tastefully done. It is sooo much fun to see other people's creativity. Great dresser, fun comforter, and lots of style!
