If you have a flat, rectangular headboard, making a slipcover is fairly simple (see links below). You can also build a headboard from scratch and sew slipcovers to change the look of your bedroom when the mood strikes. For step-by-step instructions, follow these links:

What an awesome idea! I've been thinking of making a headboard for my king bed using a door blank and I could easily make slipcovers for it so I can change the color depending on which of my 2 duvets I'm using at the time. Thanks AT!
