I remember that my grandmother had a shelf that looked just like the one in the first picture, but the back of her's was mirrored. She used to keep all of her little trinkets from her travels there.

I recently saw a chandelier made from an antic frame held in place with four simple hooks screwed into each corner and suspended with small chains. the light source came from assorted candles, very cute and romantic.
