This is the home of Liza Giles, a stylist for Designers Guild. We love the style - but what really jumped out at us when we saw all the images together on decor8 was the way Giles hung the artwork - big, unruly, tight clusters of framed and unframed pieces, creating almost a whole new singular piece out of multiple small ones. We like it. It looks modern and old fashioned at the same time...another example below:

i'd love to create this look in my home. everytime i hate my white sofa i see something fab like this and think "why didnt i think of that?!"

I'll post pictures later, but essentially you have a horizontal or vertical axis and one (or two, if you dare) focal or anchor points. Everything else is fit in like a jig saw puzzle to fit the shape you want or the space you have to fill.
Sometimes it helps if there's a loose connection between or among the pictures. I like the eclectic approach myself.

I like the butterfly mirror.

I too like a more eclectic and varied colored approach in displaying collections.
I am a collector of stuff and this is the type of vignettes that grow and happen, keep in mind that it's hard to do this in one afternoon of shopping. You must be a collector and add to a wall and room and take alway as you edit or change your mind.
As beautiful as the arrangement is in the photo it all looks like it was purchased so everything "matches". I have a background as a photo stylist, then a prop master in the union working on TV commercials and I know how hard it is to decorate my own home and not create the little sellable stories, or things that are too matchy because I now love olive green and want everything to be that color!
All of what I said put aside, it is a really lovely inviting room!

Uhm, all I have to say is that those blue-faced people in pic #2 would give me nightmares!!

I don't like it at all. It looks cluttered and has no focal point. I too think the blue-faced people are creepy.
Might be for others, but not me.

Despite all the apparent variety, it's actually all very matchy-matchy. Yuk.

Get some inspiration on my blog about wall collages and ideas on how to hang them. I posted some great pictures.
