First prize was split between Nora Fedderson's Erik the Elk (made with the FNISS wastebasket and 2 STATIST decoration trees) and...

...Lisette Haasnoot's Astrid (made with the Astrid lamp box, an X-acto knife, and a wiring kit).

Other notable entries we liked included Our Biggest Idea is the Smallest Price by Lauren Manders (made from the Gulliver chair) and Michiel Cornelissen's LACK ART.

I agree. I think the lamp is quirky and makes a wonderful statement. With a little refining I think it could actually be turned into a product.

It´s really worth looking at the rest of hacks! The coffin! Who knew you can have so much fun with Ikea!

"Design your own death!"
I find that a bit creepy, really.

i especially liked the LED lighted toilet seat. nothing calls out to a full bladder like the appeal of a toilet seat you can see from the other end of your house.
the rain jacket reminds me of a guy i saw last year at our local halloween parade. he had made a cape and matching shirt out of those bags and was greeting people in swedish as "Ikea Man"
ps - i found my own hack, "workstation", on there!
