ICFF 2008: One Night Stand - New Sleeper from Blu Dot

2008-05-28-bludot.JPG2008-ICFF-CHI2008-05-chiicff.jpgGood news for studio dwellers. New from the Blu Dot folks in Minneapolis, a sofa with a "hidden agenda" called the "One Night Stand". Simply remove the back cushions and flip the seat forward to reveal the queen size bed.

The upholstery color choices include a grey or rust wool blend and it all sits on stainless legs. The sofa will retail for $1799.

More info on Blu Dot can be found here. The One Night Stand is not yet listed on the site.

yikes!!! I know if I'm living in a studio it's because I certainly can't afford an $1800 sleeper couch... I wish things designed for studios would be designed affordably.

It's lovely, but I have the same question I always have with these things. If I live in a studio and I'm sleeping on it every night, how long can I expect the mattress/foam/whatever to last? This is why I have yet to buy a sofa bed.

I've worked with blu dot furniture before a lot, and I can personally attest Alina that their furniture really doesn't stand up to the test of time. Now, I haven't seen this one in person, but I can bet that you get your money's worth in quality from it.

I just bought a sleeper sofa / futon thingy to put in my guest room. I would have rather been able to buy something that looked that good, but I am not shelling out $1800 for something that may get used a few times a month.

Hate to diss my hometown's hottest furniture designers but this is One. Ugly. Sofa.

Maybe if it was in something other than dull grey?

It's not just you, pattymonster. Adrienne is making contradicting statements.

I can only assume that Adrienne meant that Blu Dot furniture does stand up to the test of time.
If she didn't, then - holy crap! - I guess $1800 is chump change?
Please confirm this is a typo, Adrienne!
