Tay Lighting at ICFF

Tay Lighting, based in England, was showing at ICFF for the first time this year. The lighting company was started in 2000 by Tina Hancox and Lucy Quick. Their hand painted patterns on the glass globes are highly decorative when lit but not overpowering, as many are done in simple b&w, white on white or a matte/opaque implementation.

We especially liked the floor and table lamps, which really looked like some kind of fantastic sea urchin or magical underwater creature...

Overall, they have a distinctly Eastern feel. The designs seem to be influenced by islamic patterns, nature and traditional Asian floral motifs.

NICE. These are the nicest I've seen on any AT site in quite a while (but how much are they?). Nice table lamps at their website too - I made some like those last year out of vases I found in one of those home furnishings closeout stores...

I love them! They're like girlie Nelson bubble lamps.

Although not on the website, Pier1 has (had?) some awesome nave blue glass bowls with several thin "dimples" everywhere. I'm not sure what they're for, but if you have a glass shop drill a hole for an electrical cord ($5 to $10 depending on the shop, and buy extras just in case), they look amazing with small lights inside. You can't even buy a lampshade as cheap as you can make lamps out of them.
