This year, our favorite holiday lights are chartreuse. The very dated color somewhere between green and yellow is all about commanding a category all its own.
After seeing charteuse lights on Christmas trees at Gethsemane, we searched around to find broad chartreuse inspiration (images and links below):

I live with it all year long with my Barrel Chair.
It badly needs to be re-upholstered... But I love the color too much.

I was born in 1951, so I imprinted on chartreuse early on, thanks to hours spent watching TV whie seated on the neighbors' curvy Modern sofa upholstered in chartreuse wool boucle shot with Lurex.
I've moved beyond Jetsons'-style decor but I still love chartreuse. These days, however, I get it via Vaseline glass. My place is too small for any grand gestures, so my few pieces are simple shapes from the 1920s, but I remember seeing photos of a Russian composer's Victorian-era dacha, where the broad window sills were filled with towering assemblages of fantastically-shaped 19th Century compotes & urns & vases& samovars, all rendered in eerily glowing chartreuse glass. It was like a miniature Martian city plunked down in the middle of a cozy Russian cottage.
All I know is that after I turned 21, my first legal purchase was a bottle of Chartreuse.

My favorite as well - but I don't think these were good examples.
