An Eclectic French Family Home
Vivre Côté Paris

This family home near the Tuileries in Paris is a mishmash of styles: industrial metals, natural woods, modern white, and accessories from around the world. Under the careful eye of interior designer Valérie Mazérat, all these disparate elements join together in a unique home, rich in character...

The background is mostly neutral: rich brown, ivory, and wood tones define the "bones" of the space, while accessories and artwork bring in color. Overall, there's a sense of harmony between the objects in this home, achieved by the careful balance of simple furniture and intricate details. What kind of finish is on those Marais chairs and where can they be found? They are gorgeous, as is the rest of this home.

The commerical stairs seem a little out of place, right?

Where can I find a similar sofa? I've never seen a slipcovered sofa where the slipcover drapes like the one in the top picture.

I love the art and the sofa.. the draping is very unusual. The more that I look at the pictures the more I love this place.

I love how the French have a way of making things simple and warm and lived in at the same time. No elaborate mirrored tables. No huge swaths of "bold" wallpaper or ornate chandeliers. No color accent wall. No trends at all, really.

Just simple and beautiful.

I really like this! I wish I could accomplish something similar in my home.
