BCK Design, in collaboration with Antoine S. Bonetto, designed this residence in Vendome, Montreal with some pretty unique storage units. That's the bedroom above, with the bed built on a platform of shelves for storing books (or whatever else). Check out more interesting storage in the kitchen and dining room after the jump...

The plant shelf pictured above is the perfect spot for a few potted herbs. It's nice how it is made of one solid shelf that runs right under the upper cabinets, containing the undercabinet lighting, too.
The sideboard in the dining room is fitted right over the radiator. While it doesn't cover the old radiator completely, it does provide shelving over the top of it and screens it from view pretty well.
While all of these pieces are custom built, the execution of each could be pretty straightforward. We could see implementing several of these solutions rather inexpensively with an able carpenter or on your own. For more on this residence and other projects, visit BCK Design.
Clever and creative designs - I like.

That first picture with the bed "built on a platform of shelves for storing things" was exactly what I was trying to say to the good-question poster yesterday with the queen in the tiny bedroom. I just didn't say it very eloquently. I'm not a designer, I sometimes search for the right words. I hope they take a look here and get the idea.
