Bedroom Inspiration from Chicago Hotels

It's bedroom week for Fall Curers. If you need a little inspiration, hotels are the place to look. They specialize in creating bedrooms that are relaxing, inviting, and (uh-huh) sexy. Here are a few of our picks from Chicago hotels.

We noticed a few threads running through these photos: layered bedding with clean-lined silhouettes, fresh flowers, soft lighting, artwork hung low on the walls, and floor-length drapes.

I love getting ideas from luxury hotels. The lights over the bed and the chain room dividers in the James, the daybed in the padded wall corner at the Four Seasons - all inspiring. I find that boutique hotel rooms are a great help in putting together small spaces in our own little apts.

i was about to say - i don't know what kinds of hotels YOU guys stay in...but mine tend to be pretty gross looking. granted i make less than 25k as a college student....i prefer couch surfing. then i realized it was luxury hotels...whew

that said, my mother one time won (really 3 times, i went twice) to hawaii through a company she works with (autodesk) and we stayed both times in Four Seasons. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOTEL EVER. And they weren't all kitschy. The first one we were in opened up into a little courtyard thing on the inside filled to the brim with tropical plants, trees, a pond with birds and fish. i'm sure it was built in there, but it wasn't a little fake pond with a tile bottom, it was real. and awesome. and they had real down comforters - something i've never seen in my share of holiday inns.

I looooove good hotel beds. My favorite, ever, is Le Germain in Toronto, where I'm lucky to have stayed many time while working on commercial shoots. It's beautiful and the staff is very friendly - not to mention the lovely breakfast they serve every day (try the crêpes!). And that bed... You just want to roll in it and laugh. They even have a glass wall in the bathroom so you can watch tv while taking a bubble bath. I have the sheets from that hotel on my bed now - lovely Anichini sheets.

I have a Flickr set where I stash hotel pics from my work and leasure travels:

I really enjoyed the house of blues hotel when i stayed their last december and was quite sad to find that it no longer exists and is now the Saks hotel. I think the worst part was i noticed the hike in their prices, so although i could "afford" it before, not any more. It was decorated in a pretty cool way, I can't think of the term i want to use, but i'm not really impressed on how it looks now from what i've seen.
