Keith Edmier rebuilt his childhood home as an art installation at Bard College. The home that served as Edmier's muse? A Tinley Park, Illinois ranch style house...
... which now belongs to Marilyn Raynor, age 73.
In a piece from the Tribune news service, Ms. Raynor says, "I felt like he just really loved this house and his whole childhood here." According to the article, the installation which recreates the home with it's interior design as it was in 1971, is not ironic.
"The idea was to provide a kind of vortex to enter into Keith's childhood," said exhibit curator Tom Eccles. "His work comes out of being a teenager in Tinley Park -- he has this kind of classic American childhood. "

I can actually kinda understand that. I always wanted to make a scale model of my childhood house, especially since my dad put so much work into turning a track house into a unique and beautiful home for his family.
