Color Combo: Red-Orange and Cream

3-12-08red1.jpg

We love pairing red or orange with a buttery cream color. The cream takes some of the edge off and balances the boldness of such hot colors. We've compiled a roundup of color schemes, with warm colors ranging from pure red to burnt orange. Click below for more.

Another example of this color scheme is the Harvest Time pattern by Ben Seibel for Iroquois:

Does anyone know where that Red Daybed is available and how much?

That would be perfect for my guestroom/den.

I love this combination, in our Victorian sitting room we have this scheme (apologies for the wallpaper and carpet, the previous owner's choice !)

I like that Sixty-Eight by Nama Rococo, might just have to use that somewhere. I like the idea of using it as a piece of art VS wallpaper though.

Embarassingly, I just noticed that the top header on AT is in this color scheme as well.

That color combo matches some fabrics over at Urban Outfitters which are also in that cherry blossom pattern.

how do you get cream and not butter? There is a huge difference, isn't there? To me, cream looks city, and butter looks country. You've just convinced me it's time to pore over the color swatches again...

This is my favorite palette of all time. Maybe with the red being more coral and a couple splashes of pink. Yummy.
