...entitled "Zobop (Metallic Color Stairs)" from 2005.
The stairway patterns take on a completely different feel from his expansive flooring projects, where Lambie creates the movement and angles of the pattern at his discretion on a flat surface - here, the stripes are forced to follow the dimensions of the stairs.
If you like the look and are wondering whether this idea is truly DIY-able, check out Stephanie's kitchen - she did a Lambie-style installation to cover the existing "ugly cracked green linoleum".

While I'm not a total fan of the 'look,' I have to admire the technique!

This reminds me of the Rainbow Road track on Mario Kart. :p

OMG - second the Rainbow Road on Mario Kart - spot on!
Also - third on the vertigo. While it looks original and cool, I'm afraid I will fall on my face everytime I use those stairs, especially that last step!

I would never make it past those stairs after a night of drinking.

that's a fabulous stair treatment for a residence...but not legal in public buildings as it doesn't comply with ADA requirements. i'd love to do something like this in my own home. before i read the article, just based on the picture, i thought "paul smith". lol.
