This room, described by Perscentrum as a "rural residential style," makes use of natural materials including wood, wool, and indigo-dyed denim. Cutouts in the wall display utilitarian objects: lanterns, teapots, and spoons. The style mixes clean, modern lines with rustic materials and furnishings...

Those crocheted poufs look like giant monochromatic Rasta hats...

Looks nice. Just to be curmudgeonly, none of it's knitted (except for the little swatch on the needles in the last photo). The poufs, wall hanging, and rugs are crocheted.

I love the pendant lamp, but, but...

Ok, I'll just say it:

This decor looks like my crazy hippie aunt in the woods in Northern California dropped a bunch of acid and got a little too inspired with the crochet needles while taking a big cue from Picasso's "blue period."

I could see adding one or two of these elements into a decor scheme, but the whole thing together is like a macrame nightmare to me.

It is a good thing there is also non-hippie Dutch Design, like the Lotek lamp by Benno Premsela or the br 02.7 couch by Martin Visser. Designed years ago, still available.

The smallest footstool in the middle of the first photo is giving me the exact same reaction as looking at a puppy or kitten - ooohh, so cute!! It's not even to my taste, but it makes my heart go mushy.

The pendant lights look like they are 3 feet of the ground.

Beautiful. It really sets a mood. I love the way the blonde-wood table contrasts with the gray, same with the cobalt blue!

I'm not getting a hippie vibe at all. It seems more modern primitive to me. Maybe it'd have to be all bright colors and hemp-twine macrame for me to think "hippie".
