It was wonderful. There was nothing I disliked about it... well, the assistant storyline was a bit out of place... but even that was sweet.

The new apartment was fabulous. It was glamorous without overwhelming the small apartment.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm looking forward to it. But every photo of the interiors seems off somehow. Maybe it's just because I was used to them the old way. Does anybody think the arts and crafts chair seems a bit out-of-place and a bit un-Carrie?

When design takes priority, the result is often strange closets.

I really enjoyed it, though it ran a little too long, and got cheesy in parts.

having watched & loved SATC the series, i was pretty disappointed with the movie... full of conspicuous consumption on overdrive, obvious plot twists (except steve's plot!), adolescent humor, gratuitous sex/nudity (i'm serious, even for SATC), and disturbing race/cultural insensitivity (really, when did vacation in mexico become an extreme sport, particularly for the mother in a mixed-race family?).

it's like they took all the good things of SATC the series and put them on overdrive for the movie, but lost the subtle magic on the way. shoulda stayed small.

I was pretty disappointed in the redecoration--there was something so fresh and eclectic, and at the same time warm and familiar, about Carrie's old apartment, and the redo felt to me a bit cold and generic (why, oh why, would anyone get rid of that beautiful coffee table?!). I'm most ambivalent about that highly symbolic electric blue--loved it for the electric blue, deferred happy ending Mahnolos she stashes in the fab dream closet, but not so much on the walls, where it read more Miami Vice than SATC.

Isn't the leather arts and crafts chair the one she bought from Aidan's furniture shop?

I loved the movie. Every. single. thing. about it! Our theater was full of MASSIVE SATC fans and watching the movie was like hanging out with 500 of your girlfriends -- we were all so into it. I laughed. I cried. And I can't WAIT for the sequel!

I would love the source for Carrie's white built-in organizational system in her new, improved and entirely adult apartment. That was rad.

despite my grievances, i did enjoy spending time with "old friends" and still managed to enjoy myself. plus, i think it was really amazing to see a woman's 50th birthday celebrated on-screen with no apologies! nice way to end it :)

The Aiden chair is awesome...have always loved it. If anybody has any good tips on where to find a semi-inexpensive one, let me know!

Yeah.,.. the chair from Aiden is misplaced in that apartment.
But that is the charm.

Our loves leave marks on our lives.

Carrie can still embrace the great workmanship and comfort of that big chair - but a guy like Aiden wasn't right for her life. He being so sweet and kind and good. I sure as heck could never have cheated on him.

But he left a mark.

Oh. um. My girls and I are heading to the movie this Friday so I'm trying to avoid spoilers. But I just looked at the photo of the NEW apartment.
Yuck.
I like the old one better.

But maybe I'll like it once I catch up with Carrie and see how it suits her.

Oh come on, that Arts & Crafts chair was made by Aidan. She bought it the day they met at his furniture store. It wasn't her style then either, but he did asked her out for coffee. The rest is SATC history.

Please. I love the old apartment and hate the new apartment.

And seeing the image of the TV show apartment above just reinforces my feelings. What a shame.

Sorry, I actively detest the new apartment. The old apartment was warm and eclectic, much like Carrie herself. The pieces were lovely and not sterile like the new confection. That leather chair was how she met Aidan - he had pulled the leather off an old Pullman coach.

PS - Is that new lamp on fire???

Does anyone know where the old lamps came from? Those are great. Coffe table too.

Forget the mirrored coffee table-- I want to know where the set designers got that mirrored vanity in her bedroom area.
