Dining Room by Bradley Hughes

bradleyhughesdining090908.jpg We received this dining room photo from Michelle Bradley of Bradley Hughes. The decor has such a dramatic feel - a bit glam (mirrored table and gold lighting), a bit dark and mysterious (deep blue walls and black background on the painting) and more than a bit rock and roll (skull motif and gunmetal velvet upholstery). Intrigued, we wrote to Michelle for the scoop on the contents of the room...

Here is what we found out:

The dining chairs are the Mick Chairs, covered in fabric by Philip Barlow (a Bradley-Hughes exclusive) and at the head of the table is the Giselle Chair, designed by Michelle. She also designed the light fixtures, called Lucille and Lucy, made from iron with a distressed gold finish. The painting is from the Vintage Floral series by Donna Hughes. Lastly, the Babs Dining Table was designed for Diffa in 2007.

Bradley Hughes in based in Atlanta - check out their site for more info on the products and the company.

Thanks, Michelle!

Very cool room - tho I think it would work even better if the painting were framed in a big gaudy gilt frame.

liked it -- especially the skull fabric -- but really for a show house not a real house

I would like to see a frame with that particular painting as well. Not my taste, but looks cool.

That Gisele chair is magnificent, though you can barely see it here. And the skull fabric has given me a great inspiration for DIY stencils. Win!

There's a lot about this room that just doesn't gel. Cool tones vs earth tones? That skull fabric would inspire me to go WAY over the top with the rest of the room, def rock glam! Ditto bepsf's idea for big gaudy gilt frames. Those flowers are wrong - too earthy, as is the painting. I'd find more provocative art to display on the walls too. What would Alice (Cooper) do?

Astounding. One of those moments that make me think, Take some risks! Do something different!
(Vincent, I see your point but then it wouldn't be a living space, while it has potential as it is now.)

Those light fixtures are freaking hideous.

Love the skulls though, and I agree with bepsf that the painting badly needs a frame.
