Dramatic Doorways from the Hospes Hotel in Cordoba

We've covered the Spanish Hospes Hotel chain before, taking a look at their mostly minimal bedrooms in Mallorca and Madrid. Their Cordoba hotel, on the other hand, occupies a Moorish mansion built between the 16th and 18th centuries...

Stone arches lead to patios, courtyards, and rooms decorated with frescoes. Some of the building's intricately carved doors remain. Furnishings and fixtures are very modern, which creates an interesting contrast against the historic backdrop. It definitely offers some gorgeous eye candy for a Wednesday afternoon.

Many thanks for the eye candy. I could find myself living in any one of these.

Kipi, ditto! I want to go here for my honeymoon (not that I'm engaged, or indeed even dating).

! We actually stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon in May. Best value for money of any of the hotels we stayed in -- and it was by far the most beautiful (and newest -- which meant it is still in great condition). The pool area is amazing . . . we didn't want to leave. More eye candy on the hotel's web site. That reading room/library (the fifth picture above) will make your jaw drop. . . just stunning.
