Enjoying Winter in Chicago

2-4-08wintersnow.jpg

With six months of winter, we sometimes get tired of so much snow and so little sun. But last night, we took the time to enjoy our neighborhood in winter...

Yesterday evening, we took a walk in the snow. It was quiet on our street and we walked through drifts that hadn't yet turned to slush. It took us outside of our normal routine for a little while, and my husband and I had a good conversation. It made us remember why we used to love snow and why it's not so bad to live in Chicago during the winter.

This is inspiring. It is snowing here today (Denver). This storm will probably be in Chicago in a few days. I've got the winter blahs so I think I'll take a stroll and admire some of the beauty of a fresh snowfall.

My wife and I did something very wintery yesterday. We went ice skating at Millenium Park. It was a lot of fun.

I think a lot of tourists from other parts of the world tried ice skating for the first time too. I'm sure they look at something like that as a "Chicago" thing to do in the wintertime.

Longing for a good snow in NYC - hasn't been much of a winter here. Heck, even Baghdad got snow this year!
