This week we're blogging from the road as we have left our humble diggs in Kansas City and made the journey to downtown Chicago. So far we've been on hot dog overload and have taken advantage of all that the great city has to offer. So look forward to things we've seen while out on our adventures each day. Kicking things off is this great giant map wallpaper we spotted in the middle of Iowa. Want to know where? Click through for a few more views and it's Guinness Book of World Records location.

This wallpaper was found at The World's Largest Truck Stop just outside of Plain View Iowa. It was large to say the least complete with an indoor and outdoor trucking museum and more apparel printed with painted wildlife than we had ever seen before... ever.
It was catchy for the location, although we can see it being put to use in a home just as easy. It could be done easily with rasterbator if a new project is in the wings for your space!
Every little bit of this truckstop in the concession area was covered with the stuff! Great inspiration!

When we first moved we put up a big collage of local maps so they fit together to make one big map of the area to help us find our way around. We no longer need it up, but it stays because we like it.
For awhile I've been considering taking it down and using it (plus a few other maps that are no longer useful) to paper a wall in my bathroom.

Ah, the Iowa 80. But it's in Walcott, not Plainview. I've spent enough time in Durant to know this. (And done the drive from KC to Chicago, far too many times.)

Where can you get a map supersized like this as wall paper or wall decals? This one looks amazing.

eeep! Iowa's representin'! our glamorous truck stop is a real gem.
as to the map, i've seen some large ones like that in gas stations along I-80 (i think it's the decor of "Kum and Go"... one of the funniest names for a gas station...)
i'd love to see more Truck Stop Decor posts! even if they're purely for fun

Welcome to Chicago! Too bad you missed all the St. Patty's festivities! My friend and I recently did a Chicago Hot Dog Tour - check it out on our food blog, Chicago Food Whores:

And if you get tired of hot dogs, there's always Italian Beef!
