Google Decorator: The Most Beautiful Room

2007-08-08-googledecorator1.jpg
2007-08-08-ouija.jpgEclectic to say the least.

Just for fun, we're letting Google loose as our decorator and seeing what kind of room it comes up with...kind of the Ouija Board of interior design.

Our first experiment - to put together the Most Beautiful Room. We started by asking Google for the Most Beautiful Sofa. What we got is to the left, from Anthropologie. Not a bad start.

Next, we asked for the Most Beautiful Chair to go along with it. Hmmm, interesting, these Swans with Tord Boontje upholstery. But then, things take a turn as we requested the all-knowing Google Decorator's choice for the Most Beautiful Rug...

...and we ended up with this leopard patterned number.

Rallying a bit by a quick follow up with Google's choice for the Most Beautiful Lamp - Ostrich Feathers!

And, ending on a more traditional note with the Most Beautiful Coffee Table, according to Google, of course: this Birdseye Maple and Cocobola table from Vermont Woods Studios.

Who knew that the Google Decorator would be so flamboyant? The resulting Most Beautiful Room is really quite Vegas. Definitely wacky, but honestly we were expecting worse - since beauty IS in the eye of the beholder...

Our favorite from this round of the Google Decorator's picks...the Swan Chairs take the prize. The dud? We'd have to go for the rug.

Seriously, a tiger skin rug would have been sooo much better. Leopard is so passe'.

That couch and that rug together would be enough to drive someone into insanity.

ROTFL! What a great idea!

I like the lamp except for the dust factor. I'm sure you'd have to dust it all the time. That is, if you didn't decide to dust *with* it.

A room made up of these elements would please only the most schizophrenic of drag queens.

Leopard (faux of course!) is never passe. It is art deco and thus timeless.

I didn't mean I agreed with the leopard being timeless, I agree it was the dud. Sorry, I didn't see the above comment.
