Look at the size of those stones on the wall! Amazing!
All that brass has got me thinkin' '70's.
view art's profile

I know too. I love that chandelier.

Could use more visual info, but I went with 70's.

I'm going with my gut... '70s

That slipper chair in the corner is whispering "Now" to me.

Is this Jackie Treehorn's house?

The bamboo dining chairs say early 80s to me...
view Ta's profile
I don't know the photo. The bamboo chairs and the lamp say 70's to me.

I will say now... despite the vintage pieces here and there, some of the other elements look too current. The sofa looks like it even could be 90's.
Also, (this is a bit of cheating on my part) a few people recognized the photo... I presume this means it was published somewhere recently?

the open plan says 80's or newer
view Beej's profile
I agree with lightspeed; too many vintage pieces; furniture not quite right, and the art too sixties for it to be the 70s. Just plain contemporary eclectic.

PS is that an Eames shell chair in the painting, or is that just me?
view dn's profile
i definately know the photo - but is that the question?

I think brass is going to make a comeback (see ya stainless steel!) I, too, think this room is just plain ole eclectic. Keep getting back to that slipper chair...
My guess was for "now".
view PlanItGirl's profile
I think 70's. I'm looking at the lamp, the lighting and the architecture, but looking at PlanItGirl's "now" guess, I wouldn't be surprised if she was right :)

i'm with lightspeed - i think you guys who said you knew the room were giving way too much of a hint away. :-(
view peahen's profile
I'm also going with 'now'...based on the chandelier and the 'bamboo' chairs...

bronze is the new stainless
view hdtex's profile
I had a really hard time deciding between "now" and the seventies. But something about the colour palette and the play with scale says now, but I really don't know.

I said 1970's, but I'm beginning to wonder if all the answers to these are "now", since the last one of these that I remember was.

I say now, but the look of the slipper chair and the metal legs on the couch and coffee table.

snarkbait,
sorry, but i removed your comment from the thread - we try not to give away the photo source info until monday so everyone has a chance to guess...

I say now; the mix of contemporary (sofa, slipper chair) and vintage (light fixtures) furnishings, the slight nod to Hollywood Regency (dining chairs, Dorothy Draper-style cabinet) and the blurred artwork (very now) make this an ecclectic 2000s room trying its best to work with the very 70s stone feature wall and wood panelled ceiling.

the red of the sofa seems very seventies to me.
