Gotta be the late 60s, cusp of the 70s - the rotary phone weighed it in favor of the 60s. Looks like a cabin on a ship.

    Keep 'em coming Janel!

It's not so much the design details as the electronics...

Looks like early 80s late 70s, it has a very space 2001 look to it. The use of white and neutral colours in the decor makes me want to lean towards the 80s but not completely out of the 70s yet as we see the orange tint to the windows on the door.

Television puts it at mid-70s; the stereo component looks like the in-style in the mid-to-late 70s. And I think I had that little brown desk lamp as my bedside lamp, too. What has me baffled is the calculator: is that for the travelling accountant?

The rotary phone, though... I don't think that's entirely an anachronism for mid-70s. I mean, the phone company still owned the phones, and you didn't get much say in what you got. (We didn't have push-button phones until '80, when phones became affordable enough that we weren't stuck with the phone company's limited offerings.) I've no idea, but I wonder if hotels were stuck with the same we-own-you-rent policy.

The consumer grade calculator is the best indicator that it's from the 1970s. This was the macbook air of its time.

This is surprisingly tricky: the TV says 80s but the phone and the weird keypad thing say 70s. I'd guess that it was right on the cusp, somewhere between 1979 and 1981.

I just want to suggest that for all the guess the decades, the entry is printed and scanned. Makes the guessing more fun.
My guess is Late 70's / early 80's. I feel like the lack of color takes it forward from the 70's a bit.

I like the the cabinets look ikea.

If that's a smoke detector then it's not the 60's, plus the calculator is sooooo 70's - they were crazy popular. The oatmeal colored fabrics makes me think it's not the 80's.

That can't be anything but early 1980s- space age techy to the extreme

The TV and the rotary phone give it away...it's the groovy 70s!

I'm going with the 70s based on the technology as well. Either way, can I have it?

I want to say the 60's but think it may well be the early 70's. I'm noticing the phone color...the stereo knobs....the tv...the hinges on the wall unit...the laminate...I'll vote for the (late) 60's, with reservations.

Isn't this just one of the crew's quarters on Moonbase Alpha? (ala Space:1999)

I agree with k02, the electronics pin it to mid- late-70s.

Definitely mid-70s, just be that tv alone.

I think also late 70s early 80s. I went with 70s though cause I think that may be an 8track in the stereo.

I was saying 80's but really I was thinking very late 70's to very early 80's (1978-1981), but it COULD be a bit earlier but the photo may have been taken a bit later as the TV looks to be a bit newer, it's a Sony Trinitron if I'm not mistaken and if I recall an article I now no longer have (I don't think), the trinitron didn't come out until '73 or so, so if before the late 70's, this shot was done sometime in the mid 70's, not too long after the hotel was built.

Rotary tuners were still very common up through the mid 80's on TV's, rotary phones were still around, but not as common by the time we hit the 80's as touch tone models became more affordable. My parents finally didn't go touch tone until the early 80's (I'm thinking by 84 or so).

Overall, a nice subject for guessing the decade and I agree, so 2001.

my dad was into techie stuff... he loved his pocket calculator circa 1975-ish? Maybe 1976...

When we moved into our new home, we had all of the posh 1975 amenities... including all push-button phones. However, many of our neighbors still had rotaries well into the late 70's.

The TV and stereo could be anything from 60's to early 80's... I can't tell at least...

I say 70's, mainly becuase of the calculator.

I voted for the 70s, before I noticed that somebody spilled the beans! The built in calculator kills me, because in the future that's precisely the one thing we all use on a daily basis...

Great room find! I love these quizzes.

The clever thing about this space is that by merely replacing the electronics with updated ones, the room style would be "new" again. Fun.
