Hotel Elquidomos: Dome Living in Chile

Designed by architecture firm F3, Hotel Elquidomos lies in Chile's Elqui Valley, where clear night skies provide gorgeous views of the constellations. One of only 7 astronomic hotels worldwide, the "rooms" are composed of geodosic domes with detachable roofs...

One of the most unusual bedrooms we've ever seen, the dome exists on top of a platform that houses a bathroom and small living room. The bed rests on top of the platform, covered by a fabric tent.

Each bedroom comes equipped with a telescope and a detachable roof. A small entryway opens out onto a personal deck.

Since the hotel specializes in astronomy, events are organized for the evening hours including astronomic tours and nighttime horse rides.

I would like to spend a weekend there, though. Very cool design.
